Education

Xavier Staggs's educational journey laid a solid foundation for his impressive career. He earned his Juris Doctor from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law in 2006, focusing on business law, mergers & acquisitions, tax, and securities. Complementing his legal expertise, he completed a Master of Business Administration at Fisher College of Business, also part of Ohio State, with a specialization in Corporate Finance and Accounting. His academic pursuit began at Miami University, where he graduated in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a minor in Management Information Systems.

  • Working with a healthcare investment bank in Columbus, Ohio, Xavier honed his investment banking and healthcare finance skills.

Auditor and M&A Law

  • After law school, Xavier refined his due diligence skills as an auditor before spending nearly two decades in M&A law, including as a member with Steptoe & Johnson PLLC.

Xavier's early career experiences were pivotal in shaping his professional trajectory. Prior to graduate school, he started with M&A tax projects at Deloitte, which helped him develop a robust understanding of tax and financial analysis. During business school, he worked with Lawrence Evans & Co., a small healthcare investment bank in Columbus, Ohio, where he honed his skills in deal analysis and healthcare finance.

After law school, Xavier refined his due diligence abilities as an auditor and spent nearly two decades in M&A law. His tenure at Steptoe & Johnson PLLC was particularly significant, where he maintained a book of over 150 clients, focusing on mergers and acquisitions, start-up finance, general business advisory, and commercial real estate.

Xavier's current roles reflect his extensive experience and expertise. As the Lead M&A Advisor at Staggs Capital Partners and a Senior M&A Advisor at The Raivax Group, he provides M&A and investment banking services, guiding buying and selling clients through the complexities of the M&A process. 


In addition, he serves as the fractional Chief Financial Officer at Superior Marine Ways Inc., advising on financial matters and special projects related to marine manufacturing and construction. As the Chief Growth Officer of Shine Management Inc., he focuses on new business development. 

He is also the co-founder and Director of Fuel Counter Holdings Corp., a fast-casual healthy dining concept. He oversees the company's growth, which includes an intellectual property subsidiary and multiple operating locations.
